Founded in Austin in 2011, M.I. Trading is a locally established diamond and jewelry buying business built around personal attention, transparency, and honest communication.

Our small team brings together decades of experience in diamond and jewelry buying, business operations, and customer relationships. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or returning with additional items, we want you to feel welcome, informed, and confident about your decisions.

Moran Tairy

Founder & CEO

Moran Tairy founded M.I. Trading in Austin in 2011, bringing years of experience in the diamond and jewelry industry and a belief that every customer deserves an honest, informative experience.

Originally from Herzliya, Israel, Moran began his career in the diamond industry in 2004. After studying diamond grading at The Institute for Diamond Studies in Israel, he worked with a diamond company that brought him to the United States. His experience buying and selling diamonds eventually inspired him to build his own business.

From the beginning, Moran chose to work by private appointment so he could give each customer his full attention. Today, with more than 20 years of industry experience, he continues to personally evaluate jewelry, diamonds, gold, and other precious items, explaining the factors that influence their resale value.

For Moran, the most important outcome is that customers leave with a better understanding of what they have and the confidence to make the decision that’s right for them, whether they choose to sell or not.

Debra Becker

Administrator

Debra Becker brings more than 25 years of experience in business administration, operations, accounting, human resources, and customer relations to M.I. Trading. Her diverse professional background includes working with law firms, financial institutions, real estate businesses, and managing her own company.

Since joining M.I. Trading in December 2022, Debra has played an important role in keeping the business running smoothly. She oversees many of the company’s administrative operations and is often the first person customers meet when arriving for their private appointments.

Debra understands that people visit M.I. Trading for many different reasons, sometimes during important or challenging moments in their lives. She takes pride in helping customers feel welcome, comfortable, and informed throughout their visit.

Outside the office, Debra is a painter with a background in commercial art. She enjoys spending time with her family in the Austin area and pursuing her passion for painting.

Gilad Bognet

Account Manager

Gilad Bognet brings a background in real estate and sales to his role at M.I. Trading, where he focuses on developing customer relationships and connecting with people interested in buying or selling jewelry and other valuable items.

Working with both new and existing customers, Gilad helps maintain the personal connections that are an important part of M.I. Trading’s approach to business.

For Gilad, a successful business relationship starts with transparency, mutual respect, and open communication. He believes a good transaction should leave both parties feeling comfortable with the outcome.

Originally from Israel, Gilad is also a recording and performing artist. Outside of work, he’s pursuing his passion for music and working on his second studio album.
